The eccentric Robert Pera, the owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, recently challenged Michael Jordan to a game of one-on-one after his player Tony Allen bailed on a matchup. This stunk of desperation, and Jordan swatted it down like a sloppy jump shot.
“I think that’s comical,” Jordan said to Yahoo Sports. “It didn’t make any sense. Why would I play one one-on-one? It’s a no-win situation for me no matter what.”

It is a little bit telling that Jordan thinks so little of a million dollars going to a charity of his choice for about 10 minutes of time, but you can you really blame the guy? He could probably make more money signing sneakers for 10 minutes if you think about it. Honestly, there is no reason for him to have to prove himself to anyone. He beat O.J. Mayo at one on one recently, so it is not as if Pera ever would have stood a real chance. This is the greatest player of all time we are talking about here even if he is fifty years old.

In any case, I will keeping a close eye on news concerning Jordan this year because Jalen Rose predicted that the GOAT would play one game this season, and as Bill Simmons says Jalen Rose is a guy who knows things.
