John Wall Continues to Be Great Ambassador for John Calipari and Kentucky Wildcats

John Wall has certainly helped John Calipari’s career quite a bit, although the old ball coach certainly had an impressive resume before Wall. Calipari’s resume after Wall’s tenure in Lexington is impressive though and the effect is huge to have players the quality of Wall and DeMarcus Cousins coming back to their old school for things like Midnight Madness and offseason workouts. Saw this news initially below, which got me thinking about this topic.

For instance Jahlil Okafor got to meet Wall on the young center’s visit, which must have put quite an impression. Although the Whitney Young talent still has the Wildcats on his list, he is a package recruiting deal with Tyus Jones, so it is unlikely Okafor will end up going to Lexington. On other recruits though, having this trype of advantage can make the difference between landing a recruiting and losing him to a fierce competitor. It is a very thin line between winning and losing.

Wall is in for a big year himself, if this writer’s opinion is right. He could push the Wizards all the way to the playoffs which seems to be the organizational goal this season. The maturation of Bradley Beal will certainly help, and I’m hoping that things go sour this year with Cousins out in Sac-Town. It would be quite fun to reunite the old college teammates would it not? It would also help Cousins’ game to have a point guard that the enigmatic center is deferring to a bit more on offense as opposed to just trying to bowl people over the way he normally does.
