If you have not been checking out Grantland’s NBA team previews, and you are a basketball fan then you have not been doing your job!

The production value on these is extremely high, and as they get into the contenders (they’ve been releasing one a day), they will surely only get more entertaining. The Detroit Pistons one was always going to be fun to check out, because Jalen Rose is from Michigan and obviously was a member of the famed “Fab Five” squad that revolutionized college basketball.

Bill Simmons has the Pistons going back to the playoffs which I agree with. Josh Smith has been underrated throughout his career and as you can see from the shotcart they pull up, if he can learn to only shoot threes and dunks (preferrably more dunks), then he could turn into a deadly efficient player.

The Brandon Jennings pick up was huge for them as well, and after all the RIP BRandon Knight stuff from last year it is hard to blame the Pistons for moving on. Andre Drummond is the X-factor for this team, and if he can take a second year leap then the Pistons are going to have some nice options on the offensive end. Here is hoping they can make their fans proud in Detroit next season after a disappoint baseball defeat.
