Kobe Bryant Getting Disrespected By NBA GMs Will Only Further Motivate

In a theme that’s become all too familiar, Kobe Bryant has once again been disrespected. This time it’s from the NBA General Managers. NBA.com does an annual poll with league GMs to determine the best players at each position, as well as who will win the championship and MVP. Clearly, Bryant isn’t in the MVP discussion at the point and the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t in the title picture. But that’s not where the disrespect is coming from. The GM’s have voted James Harden as the best shooting guard in the league.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the same James Harden that was a sixth-man until last season? And we’re talking about the same Kobe Bryant that was first team All-NBA last season?

I understand that Kobe ruptured his achilles tendon late last season and that Harden is supposed to be better than ever, but there’s absolutely no evidence to suggest that Harden is a better shooting guard than Bryant at this point.

Granted, the GM vote is based on what they think is going to happen this year, so they’re basically guessing that Kobe is going to fall off.

Sure, there’s a chance that the Black Mamba will never be the same again. But until I see it with my own two eyes, I’m not going to doubt him one bit. Bryant is the best shooting guard in the NBA until someone takes that title from him. At the same, there’s no question in my mind that Kobe will use all this doubt as motivation. He’s already as driven as any player in the league and now with people predicting his demise, he’ll be on an absolute mission to prove them all wrong.
