The Indiana Pacers have added one really decent piece in Luis Scola who will add some scoring off the bench, which should be enough to give them that extra push. In addition to the Argentine, starting small forward Danny Granger is back to full health and is ready to help push this team even further than the Eastern Conference Finals.

The team lost after seven games in a thrilling series against the Miami Heat, who truly did deserve to advance to the NBA Finals, then go onto become champions for the second year running. The Pacers fought tooth and nail until the final whistle in most of the games, but LeBron James and company ended up being a bit too much to handle.

Well, after losing to them in two-straight knock-out rounds in both 2012 and 2013, they will look to make 2014 a different, and more positive story.

The team will have the same starting five they did from last year, but they will replace Lance Stephenson with Granger due to the difference of experience and the clutch ability of the latter name. He will truly be one of the driving forces that this team needs to finish as a top-three team in the East, most likely behind or around the Heat and Brooklyn Nets. When his teammates are having an off night, he has to have a brilliant one in order to earn the big win needed to keep moving on up the standings.

Prediction: Indiana finishes second in the East behind Miami, and will make it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. If they face Miami, they can win, but that is not guaranteed. If they face Brooklyn, they will make it to the Finals as that team still needs to gel with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett just joining their ranks.
