The time is finally here. It’s been talked about all summer long and the Chicago Bulls can’t wait for it to start. Their star point guard Derrick Rose is back and ready to show the NBA world what they been missing. He will play his first game Tuesday night against the two-time champions Miami Heat and the spotlight will be all on him.
Will he be ready to deliver on his promise to stay healthy and deliver the goods to be a champion? Never doubt the former MVP.
Rose heard all the critics and haters last season for sitting out all year while recovering from knee surgery. It was a very smart move on his part because he has looked explosive as ever in the preseason. He’s playing with a certain chip on his shoulder and ready to shut all the critics up. Rose averaged 20.7 points in the preseason and has added other weapons into his game, like a more reliable three-point shot.
There will be immense pressure once Rose gets on the court for his first game of the regular season. All eyes will be on him to deliver right away, but Bulls’ fans should not worry. Coach Tom Thibodeau has seen enough in the preseason that he will not hold his best player back. We can all look for Rose to regain his MVP status and he may just win the award.
But the Bulls and Rose are looking for bigger and better things than just an MVP award. With Rose back and taking over that leadership role, the Bulls have some high expectations. The bright lights will shine on Rose like never before and he is ready to deliver the goods.
