Center Marcin Gortat Knew Trade from Phoenix Suns Was Imminent
Marcin Gortat could see the writing on the wall in Phoenix, but that did not stop the center from going about his business and staying healthy which is quite wise.
“We all know what’s going to happen. It’s a business. I totally understand that. I totally understand the situation. There’s no hard feelings. I will try to do everything that’s necessary to win basketball games, and whatever happens happens. I’m grateful for everything I had in this team.” Gortat said on September 30, 2013.
This is a true professional and though I believe D.C. gave up too much in the trade, I’m definitely excited that they seem to be locked in as a playoff team now. Gortat will help John Wall out a lot as a pick and roll partner, while also allowing Nene to go through his usual injury troubles. You know they are coming folks, it it just inevitable at this point. Gortat gives them some insurance at the big man position, and something tells me he will gel well with Bradley Beal as well. Definitely going to be amazing season of basketball and it all tips off tonight in primetime folks. So get your DVR ready and fire up those brats.
You can check out some more of Gortat’s comments below thanks to Sam Amick whose content I check in on a lot.
