Jerryd Bayless Calls Head Coach Dave Joerger “Phenomenal Basketball Mind”
Well wouldn’t you know it, but Jerryd Bayless can do a little bit of writing, which you can check out on his website. We might need to get him set up with Rant!

Bayless praised his new head coach in the piece and it could be a surprising year in Memphis.
“Our new head coach, Dave Joerger, is a phenomenal basketball mind” Bayless wrote. “The way he has put his imprint on this team from day one is definitely going to benefit us. The thing I’ve liked most about Dave since he took over is that he hasn’t changed as a person. He’s been the same guy he was as an assistant. That’s not to say that all coaches change when they become a head coach. But it’s a big adjustment. Because of that, the mindset can change, and sometimes, that’s just part of the process. But to Dave’s credit, he’s stayed the same.”
Bayless also writes about how Mike Miller will help them a lot, and have to agree there, but I question whether he can stay healthy for the whole year. The Grizzlies will have a little bit more shooting to go with their grit and grind this season, but not sure if they can get back to the peak they reached last year.
