Los Angeles Clippers Fall Flat Against Lakers in Doc Rivers’ Coaching Debut
Chris Paul’s all around brilliance never ceases to amaze me, and the combination of the former ACC player and championship worthy coach Doc Rivers is quite promising. Rivers is famously tough on his point guards, but he should get along quite well with Paul in the long run.
Tonight though the Clippers fell flat on a national stage, and against a team that does not figure to be in the playoffs at the end of the year.
It looked a bit like Lob City at first, but just with better spacing. J.J. Redick in particular looked great tonight and believe his addition is going to be huge for them down the stretch. His consistent shooting will be used quite effectively by Paul and Jared Dudley was an underrated addition as well.
Tonight though the Lakers came out with a full team effort, and came away with a win.
It was technically an away game for the Clippers, who recently decided to cover up the championship banners of their rival during home games. This did not please Nick Young, but coach Rivers does what he wants when he wants. That is just the way it goes.
Anyways it was a fantastic first night of basketball folks, and the second golden era of basketball is officially reaching a peak. You can bet that Rant Sports will cover it for you as well and for you college basketball fans out here keep an eye out for my coverage from the Champion’s Classic in a couple weeks.
