Persistent Forward Robbie Hummel Makes Minnesota Timberwolves Roster

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Robbie Hummel has deservedly made a roster spot, and it is an inspiration to see him do this after two ACL tears. You can check out an interview with him below, and his persistence is something that should inspire us all.

He used to vacation in Minnesota so it will be an excellent fit this year, and you can bet that he will have some family at his games.

“Every summer we’d usually come up for a week or two around July 4,” Hummel said to Pioneer Press. “Everybody would come up, and it would be a lot of fun. Minnesota summers are real nice, that’s for sure. My dad’s aunt, my great aunt, lives in Brooklyn Park, and a lot of his cousins live around here, in Brooklyn Center and Little Falls,” he said. “And then we have a family lake house in the Brainerd-Pequot Lakes-Nisswa area. My great grandpa built it; it’s my grandparents’ place. It was always cool to come up here. Then, when I got drafted here, it was a good fit.”

We will have to see how many minutes a game he will play, but for now he will probably be riding the pine unless a game ends up being a blow out. It will be great to see him out there though.
