Indiana Pacers Head Coach Frank Vogel Calls Roy Hibbert "Best Defensive Player in the Game"

Roy Hibbert impressed me quite a bit last year, and if his little post hook has improved even more then LeBron James and company might be in for some trouble this season.

People forget that Larry Legend added Luis Scola and Chris Copeland to this squad’s bench and I really love the returning combination of Danny Granger and Paul George. George is looking like a budding superstar while Granger could be a force off the bench.

Thanks to the tweet below for Frank Vogel’s quote on Hibbert. The head coach called his center the “best defensive player in the game.”

It is mainly Hibbert’s improvements on offense that interest me, but that is only because his defensive dominance is a given at this point. James only unleashes his floater against Hibbert which should give you a sense of the effect the young center has on the defensive end. I also love his demeanor in press conferences even if it results in the occasional slur. He does MMA to stay tough in the offseason and that can only improve his play in the low post; we will see if he comes to fight in the playoffs this season and something tells me they will be back.
