The 5 Most Entertaining NBA Games Of The Week
The 5 Most Entertaining NBA Games of The Week
We're speeding into week two of NBA action after a fun and fast paced first week of basketball. Many big-name players put up some big games during the week. We saw Chris Paul score 42 in the same game where Stephen Curry torched the Los Angeles Clippers for 38 points, including nine buckets from beyond the arc. Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant put up 42 in his first game as well. Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves also put up a few huge games.
I'd honestly be all night if I were to go over every player that took their game to another level in week one. One player that stood taller than the rest was rookie Michael Carter-Williams of the Philadelphia 76ers. Carter-Williams filled up that the stat sheet with a 22 point, 12 assist, seven rebound and nine steal performance in a shocking 114-110 win over the Miami Heat.
The opening week of action has left fans salivating in anticipation of what's next on the menu. There's no doubt that the level of competition is up throughout the entire league. Everyone had an idea that we'd be in for a great season, but nothing compares to actually watching it all go down. This will be one of the best seasons in a very long time.
The balance of power in the league brings the NBA back to its glory days when players like Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone graced the court with their presence. Only time will tell if amazing continues to happen as the NBA season rolls on. I've compiled a list of the top 5 most exciting games on the schedule this week. Check it out.
5. Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers - November 6, 2013
Both the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers will finish the season as top five seeds in the Eastern Conference, so this is a preview to a potential playoff series. Derrick Rose and Paul George will face off in what is sure to be an exciting matchup.
4. Indiana Pacers at Detroit Pistons - November 5, 2013
The Detroit Pistons have become one of my favorite teams to watch this season. Their revamped roster is sure to cause plenty of matchup problems throughout the entire league. The Indiana Pacers will be the Pistons' hardest test of the early season. The best matchup in this game will be between the two front-courts. Watch for some very physical play in this one.
3. Oklahoma City Thunder at Detroit Pistons - November 8, 2013
This game may not have made the list if it weren't for the early return of Russell Westbrook. The Oklahoma City Thunder are now at full strength; meanwhile the Pistons are playing well enough to knock off any team in the NBA. Kevin Durant and Josh Smith will highlight two rosters full of very talented players.
2. Los Angeles Clippers at Miami Heat - November 7, 2013
The Los Angeles Clippers came out of the gate a bit slow but quickly picked up the pace here in the early portion of the season. The Miami Heat also stumbled out to start, and they've yet to prove that they're still that championship caliber team from a year ago.
1. Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs - November 8, 2013
These two teams have come out swinging and will get a chance to throw jabs at one another in this battle of two Western Conference powerhouses. Expect the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors to be seeing a lot more of each other later on in the year. These two always deliver big-time games so I wouldn't expect anything less this time around.
