Orlando Magic Don’t Have Enough Firepower to Best Atlanta Hawks
The Orlando Magic could be on the fast-track to the lottery this season, but that is definitely not guaranteed yet. They got on their way there a bit more with their latest loss. The Hawks coach liked the defensive effort but he will need more offense down the line to get wins.
“Al Horford’s defensive intensity, his defensive will, has been great,” said coach Mike Budenholzer. “Not just tonight but from Day One. We have a long way to go, but I think Al is setting the tone . . . Al was making Vucevic’s catches difficult. We want to do our work before the ball goes into the post”
Victor Oladipo has been a pleasant surprise so far and he has been my pick from the beginning to be rookie of the year; he was mildly invisible in this one, but his defensive effort is present in every game even when it does not show up on the box score. Michael Carter-Williams might have something to say about the rookie of the year berth, but it there is still a lot of season left to go. Maybe all things are for the best though in the long run.

Aaron Afflalo put up some nice numbers for the Magic, but it was not enough to get the victory. His 21 points and seven assists paced the Magic, but they still fell short by 10 points and it is going to be a tough hull to climb from here on out.
