Brandon Jennings has been known to say the wrong thing at the wrong time, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that he made a disrespectful comment about Chris Smith, brother of New York Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith.

Jennings tweeted the following on Wednesday: “Wait wait wait JR smith brother is in the NBA but @PoohJeter & @BBROWNLAU isn’t. Call me hater but not Rollin!!!”

The tweet was later deleted, which gave J.R. Smith even more reason to fire back at the Detroit Pistons point guard via his own Twitter handle:

“No respect for these lil kids who pop at the mouth on twitter an then want to delete they tweets! #GrowUp! #ManUp! @TheOnlyCSmith0 #Facts!”

There has been much speculation as to why Chris Smith is on the Knicks in the first place. The reason for that is because he is not the most talented player in the league and it’s hard to imagine where someone like him would fit on the roster.

It’s no secret that J.R. Smith required his younger brother to be a part of the Knicks organization when he signed a contract with the team in the offseason. In fact, even head coach Mike Woodson admitted that Chris being the brother of J.R. definitely had some influence. Not to mention, Chris Smith hardly had an impact in the preseason and has yet to get in a game during the regular season.

Many see his inclusion on the roster as detrimental to the team, which is exactly what Jennings was implying through his tweet. Obviously, J.R. Smith didn’t like the fact that Jennings, of all people, was the one to make a comment publicly. Even though Jennings definitely has skill, he certainly isn’t the best point guard in the game.

The Knicks will take on the Pistons in Detroit on Nov. 19 in what is sure to be a very exciting contest.
