Sacramento Kings Have “No More Excuses” Says DeMarcus Cousins

Kelley L Cox – USA TODAY Sports

DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins was handed the keys to a team recently, and it could prove to ender in a lottery bound car crash.

Cousins is sick and tired of losing though and he wants to lead the team to a change.

“We’ve been a team full of excuses,” said Cousins to the Sacramento Bee. “And in the past, we really had an excuse. Now we don’t – it’s on us. Everything is set up for us now. It’s nothing we can complain about from the top to the coaches. Everything is set for us now. We just have to go out there and play. There’s no more excuses.”

Well, we will just have to see what excuse they come up with after the “no more excuses” excuse.

Thanks to the tweet below for the update.

Cousins impressed me during the lockout with a performance in which he got into a three point shooting exchange with old teammate John Wall, but admittedly Boogie’s maturity level needs to improve in the next couple years if he is going to be a true leader. Could a reunion with Wall help that matter? Who knows, but thanks to the ineptitude of Ernie Grunfeld it is not likely to ever happen.

Best of luck to Cousins and the Kings this season, but something tells me that they will have a chance to get a pretty great player in next summer’s draft. Believe me, was at the Champions Classic this Tuesday and there are PLENTY of players that are worth tanking for, and it is just the sad but honest truth about the NBA.

Rondo Perfectly Guesses Atlanta's Final Play

Say what you will about Rajon Rondo, but there's no way to deny that he's an incredibly smart basketball player. Last evening against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings were up by three points with 1.9 seconds left, and Atlanta had one final possession to tie things up. Rondo immediately recognized the play the Hawks had drawn up and directed DeMarcus Cousins to an empty space on the floor where the Hawks were planning to send a player to take a three. Rondo's smarts made the Hawks botch the play, and the Kings held serve for the win.

Watch Kings' Rondo Attempt To Trip Mavs' Williams

Last night's game between the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks was one of the most entertaining of the season. It was a back-and-forth contest that ended on a Deron Williams three-pointer as time expired in double-overtime. Unfortunately, Williams almost didn't get to take that shot as Rajon Rondo attempted to trip him from the bench earlier in the game which could have caused serious injury. Rondo should be suspended for his actions.
