Brooklyn Nets Have Hit Rock Bottom

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

This is utter nonsense and I can’t deal with this anymore. The last time I checked, the Charlotte Bobcats were just the laughing stock of the NBA last season. The tides have turned and now the Brooklyn Nets are the running joke amongst players, fans and their own sports writers.

This should have been a gimme game for the Nets. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I don’t know who the bigger fool is when it comes to the Nets. Is it Billy King for constructing this mess of a team? Is it Jason Kidd for not getting the most out of these players? Is it Mikhail Prokhorov for spending his hard earned money? Or is it us, the fans, for believing that these fools were any good in the first place?

I admit I got caught up in the hype of the old guards leaving the Boston Celtics with something to prove like Ray Allen did last year for the Miami Heat. But after watching them against the Bobcats, I realized I will be depressed all season long if I think these guys have a chance at anything but the 2014 NBA Lottery.

The players came out with energy tonight, then Deron Wiliams decided he didn’t want to be on the court anymore and decided to act like his ankle hurt. He limped off the floor to the locker room and decided to chill for the rest of the night. Brook Lopez figured he would pull a Dwyane Wade and sit against a so-called bad team figuring the big shots that came over in the offseason trade could hold the fort down for the night against the lowly Bobcats.

The Nets fell to 3-8 on the season and if things don’t start to improve they might be out of a coach and a few marquee players as well.
