Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova hasn’t played since the team’s home opener against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 2. The Bucks haven’t fared well without one of their best players as they have won just one game in six chances since then, including five consecutive losses. There is no question Milwaukee desperately needs Ilyasova back in the lineup immediately in order to be competitive due to the various injuries the Bucks are dealing with so far this season.
The good news is help appears to be on the way as Ilyasova is expected to play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Portland Trailblazers.
“I’m close to 100% but still a little bit sore,” Ilyasova said, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I have to work on my conditioning, but I feel much better and am looking forward to try to play the next game.”
The Bucks have managed to win just two games this season as injuries to key players has not allowed the team to gain any traction. The inconsistent lineups on a nightly basis is simply too much to overcome, especially since Milwaukee had a complete overhaul of the roster in the offseason. Most of the players have no experience playing with each other, which means the chemistry just isn’t there. Not to mention, players have been forced to play out of position due to the injuries.
Ilyasova hopes to bring a high level of energy on both sides of the court, and specifically help with the scoring. Along with Ilyasova, small forward Caron Butler is also expected to play after missing a game due to an issue with his left shoulder.
