Chicago Bulls vs. Portland Trail Blazers Friday Game Preview, TV Schedule, and Betting Lines

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bulls are not favored in this one after playing last night, and you can bet that the Portland Trail Blazers (-3.5) will try to build up a quick lead in the first. The Bulls have been slowing working their way back into rhythm though and it will be interesting to see if Derrick Rose can start to hit about half of his shots. His coach likes the effort lately.

“It was a tough, hard-fought game and I liked that Derrick showed a lot of perseverance. He had timely buckets late,” coach Tom Thibodeau said after Wednesday’s win.

Rose’ jump shot has looked much improved this season, and in particular that three point shot seems to be falling a lot more for him lately. If that remains consistent then you can bet that he will be a perennial
All Star in the coming years.

The Blazers have a quality team though and my money would be on these guys at home. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge could end up not retiring as a Blazer, but for the moment he is still killing for them and doing quite well along with point guard Damian Lillard.

Here is the TV schedule for this game, and you can bet I DVRed the Bulls games last night on TNT. Cannot wait to settle in and watch that one commercial free.

TV: CSN-Chicago, Northwest, DTV: 665, 765, 766.

Thanks for reading folks, one more preview coming this morning and then be sure to check out my Rant Sports Prep content later tonight.

President Obama's Got Jokes About Warriors, 1995-96 Bulls

The Golden State Warriors recently visited the White House to be acknowledged for their 2014-15 NBA championship. As you may know, President Obama is a huge fan of basketball, and especially his beloved Chicago Bulls. While introducing the team, President Obama joked that he was in the presence of one member of the greatest team in basketball history with Steve Kerr on stage. The Warriors head coach was a member of the 1995-96 Bulls team that many think of as the greatest team of all time.

Pau Gasol Puts "Shake and Bake" On Kobe Bryant

The Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls squared off on Thursday night, so naturally all eyes were on former teammates Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. The two had a nice embrace prior to opening whistle, but it was strictly business once the game got started. Don't believe me? Just check out this "Shake and Bake" executed to perfection by Gasol.

Bulls' Noah Comes Nowhere Close To Making Jumper

Joakim Noah is a tremendous hustler and a gritty basketball player who does all the dirty work. That being said, this jump shot was terrible. This was the worst attempt that I've ever seen in my life and I don't expect that Noah will be shooting any more than layups for a good while.
