Lebron James is set to make another return to his home state this week, as the Miami Heat will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. Obviously, Thanksgiving is the next day and the players will be forced to miss out on spending the holiday with their families because of a trip to Toronto on Friday. But luckily for the Heat, James still has a home in the Cleveland area. As a result, he and his family will host the entire Heat team for Thanksgiving.

Lebron says that his wife and chef will split the cooking duties and that he’s glad he can do something for his teammates during the holidays: “We would have loved to have been here for the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas being here in Miami. We don’t mind playing on those holidays. Wish we could have been here, but I am happy that I’m able to do something for the team for Thanksgiving.”

Dwyane Wade summed up the holiday and James’ home with this comment: “We’re not at home with our families for Thanksgiving but it couldn’t work out any better that at least we could be in someone else’s home. And it’s a very nice home that we’re going to, so I’ll make sure I’ll put on the right clothes and the right socks, ‘gotta take your shoes off at the door’ type of house.”

This is definitely a cool move on Lebron’s part. It’s not the ideal Thanksgiving for the Heat, but I’m sure it will be memorable one.
