The Indiana Pacers host the Washington Wizards in a Friday night showdown that could be more competitive than some may assume. Paul George and the Pacers’ league-leading defense should present a good test against John Wall and the pass-happy Wizards’ offense.
Both teams are streaking coming into the game. Indiana is riding a five-game winning-streak while Washington comes into the game winning three in a row.
The Pacers present all sorts of issues for any opponent that could cause the Wizards some trouble, but they will certainly have their hands full with an underrated Washington group. John Wall can do it all and will definitely keep George Hill busy while recent acquisition Marcin Gortat is really helping the Wizards down low. Roy Hibbert vs. Gortat could be an interesting battle to watch in the post.
This game is fairly important for both teams. Indiana is No. 1 in the East and the league with the NBA‘s best record, but with the Miami Heat close behind, winning every game is important. That’s especially true with a tough west coast road trip ahead that could cost the Pacers a few losses. For Washington, they are trying to get to .500, and with how weak the East has looked so far this season, getting ahead early will be important if they want a chance at the playoffs this season.
Although Indiana is a lock on defense, this game looks to be an offensive battle with good shooting on both sides.
This game could certainly be better than expected and is a must-watch on this Friday night.
