San Antonio Spurs Have Perfect Opportunity to Bounce Back vs.Orlando Magic
The team led by Gregg Popovich hasn’t faced much trouble in the start of the season as they have one of the best records in the NBA, but the Spurs need to come out strong in their next contest if they want to get back to winning ways. In that sense, it bodes well for the Spurs that their next opponent is the Orlando Magic.
Despite the fact that the Magic have already won two games in a row, it’s hard to see them coming out on top against the Spurs even in front of their fans. The Magic do have some quality pieces like Aaron Afflalo, veteran Jameer Nelson and rookie Victor Oladipo that might give a trouble or two to the Spurs’ defense, but the overall product is nowhere near a team that could pull the upset.
Even after a performance that saw them shot only 39 percent from the field against the Thunder, the Spurs are a much better unit than that. They have one of the top PG in the league in Tony Parker, solid complementary pieces like Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard and a sure Hall Of Famer in Tim Duncan to go along with one of the best second-units in the NBA. The Spurs already defeated the likes of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this season on the road with relative ease, and the matchup against the Magic should be no different.
It remains to be seen how the Spurs will go out after losing a game against one of their rivals, but they couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to go back to winning ways sooner rather than later.
