Boston Celtics Looking For Consistency In Upcoming Week

The Boston Celtics had a great opportunity to finish their week 3-1 and continue their playoff push, but they failed to take advantage of the lowly Milwaukee Bucks. Boston now looks at a 7-12 record going into December. The upcoming week features three games against the Bucks, Denver Nuggets, and New York Knicks. The Celtics finally get much needed days of rest and look to display consistency on offense.

On Monday night the Celtics have a chance to redeem themselves after an ugly loss against the Bucks, and this time the game will be played at the TD Garden. The Celtics know their team is much better than the Bucks. Boston needs to challenge the Bucks’ big men, score more points in the paint, and take smarter shots.

Then the Celtics have much needed time off before they square off against the Nuggets for the first time this season. The Nuggets had a slow start to the season but have won five in a row and eight out of their last 10. I’ve always liked how Denver plays basketball, and they usually do well against Boston. The Nuggets are fifth in the league in rebounds while the Celtics are 20th. Jared Sullinger cannot be the only one rebounding for this team. The other big men need to help out, and the guards need to chip in as well. The Celtics may have a hard time slowing down Denver’s fast-paced offense.

The Celtics will travel to New York to play the struggling Knicks on Sunday at noon. The Knicks have had a rough stretch since Tyson Chandler went down, and this will be the first time the two teams face each other since the playoffs. Boston needs to take advantage of the paint with Tyson Chandler out. In the playoffs, the Celtics were killed on the offensive glass. The defense did well containing Carmelo Anthony, but they could not find an answer for Raymond Felton. The Knicks have been playing below the level they are capable of playing this season, so the record does not mean anything. It will be a good test for the Celtics.

The Celtics have a chance to redeem themselves in the beginning of the week and will face two teams that will test the team’s fortitude. The most important part of this week is that the Boston will finally get some rest.
