Top 15 Biggest Jerks in the NBA

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

As we all know, sports today are riddled with jerks and bad apples. There's no shortage of players who think that they are the greatest thing to ever grace the league. Some guys are jerks because of their careless attitude and others can be considered jerks because of the way they treat opposing players and fans.

While the NBA doesn't draw the same kind of crowds as the NFL does, there are still millions of fans across the country that know exactly who should be included on a list like this and these players' actions don't go unnoticed by many. Over the years, there have been many jerks in the NBA and those players were loved by their own fans and hated around the league.

Although he is considered the greatest player of all time, Michael Jordan was considered one of the biggest jerks of his era. It seemed like everyone loved him, but he had a fiery personality that sometimes came off the wrong way and angered opponents and opposing fans.

Playing in the NBA isn't easy and these players know it. Sometimes NBA players encounter opponents who play dirty, take low blows at them and just try to get into their head. It's a mind game that is constantly being played by both sides and it seems like the biggest jerks have the upper hand in the mind game.

The guys on this list are a mixture of superstars and just normal everyday players. Some guys on this list have made a successful living off being jerks. Some have had a hard time shaking the label of "jerk" and other just don't care -- they just play the game the same way they have been accustomed to.

Take a look at this list of the top 15 jerks in the NBA today and let me know who I've missed.

15. Kenyon Martin

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Martin is known as an enforcer in the paint and has been called one of the dirtiest players in the league. He won't be shy to give you a gut check, groin punch or elbow to the back. He just plays like a jerk -- sometimes that's a good thing.

14. Paul Pierce

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Paul Pierce is not a very likable guy. Although he did survive a scary stabbing attack in 2000, he has come off as nothing but arrogant. If there's any guy you like rooting against, it's him -- especially after he left a game in a wheelchair and came back as healthy as ever.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

DeMarcus Cousins is the type of player that would play for money instead of the love of the game. He insisted that he didn't want to be part of the Sacramento Kings organization multiple times and made it known he wasn't happy with his team. Not the greatest teammate and definitely a jerk.

Denying trades, fixing NBA drafts and making extreme rule changes while allowing one of the worst referee scandals in history to happen are just a handful of things Stern has been accused of.

10. Gilbert Arenas

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

Gilbert Arenas pulled a gun on his teammate in a locker room altercation. I guess that's a good way to get yourself labeled as a jerk by your own teammates. He's been known as a prank artist and once defecated in his teammate's shoe as revenge for a prank.

9. Kobe Bryant

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Besides being charged with rape, which was never proven, Bryant has the personality of a stone-cold killer on the court. No one wants to play him because he will take whatever steps necessary to win, even taking cheap shots. Plus, he knows he's one of the best and he won't let you forget it.

8. Rajon Rondo

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Rondo is one of those young scrappy players that just doesn't know when to quit acting like a fool. He constantly tries to start fights and skirmishes with other players.

Garnett has called players names, taken personal jabs at players, saying "Happy Mother's Day" to a player who lost his mother and just trash talks until players can't help but lash out. He's a cold, cold man.
