Well, it looks as though Houston Rockets center Omer Asik will get his wish. According to ESPN, sources have told them that the Rockets plan to deal the unhappy big man — and soon.
Hearing this strong: Rockets determined to trade Omer Asik by Dec. 19 at latest and have ramped up discussions with potential trade partners

Asik had been rumored to have wanted out much earlier than this point, but the organization had made it clear they would not be moving him. After having his minutes reduced and seemingly not keeping the best relationship with the coaching staff, Asik’s days in Houston are numbered.
The 27-year old center started last year for the Rockets and was one of the league’s top rebounders and overall defenders in the paint. His big body and aggressive nature down low help him to be one of the best rebounders in the game. But, because of the addition of Dwight Howard this past offseason, Asik’s stock took an immediate hit and it was only a matter of time before this day came.
So, what does December 19th have to do with all of this? ESPN’s Marc Stein explains:
“The significance of such a specific window is two-fold. Dec. 15 is the first day players who signed new contracts in the offseason can be plugged into trades, and Dec. 19 is the last day any player acquired by Houston in an Asik deal can be repackaged with other players before the league’s Feb. 20 trade deadline.”
One of the most notoriously busy teams in the trade game appears to be getting set to deal even more once Asik is gone, thus the strategic schedule. The big question now, is, just where will Asik end up? We will most definitely keep you updated here on the potential suitors. Continue to check back daily.
