How Rajon Rondo's Return Will Improve Boston Celtics

Brad Stevens let it drop the other day that Rajon Rondo could return sometime early next month. If this holds true, then the Boston Celtics will be in prime position to make a run for the playoffs. The Celtics have played well without Rondo so far this season. Despite having a record under .500,  they are still in first place in a weak division.

For the most part, the Celtics have been in every game and not thrown in the white towel. Adding Rondo back into the mix will make this team better and help them close out games.

With the return of Rondo, Jordan Crawford, who has been playing some excellent basketball lately, will be able to move to the bench and be a lock for the sixth man role. Also the Celtics will have an experienced leader on the floor and a champion in Rondo, it will be very interesting to see what Rondo will bring to this team.

With Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett gone, Rondo will have to look to be a scorer now while still dishing out the ball. He has always been looked at as a pass-first player, but now he will have to be the no. 1 option. This means working on his perimeter shooting skills.

Rondo is the push that will get this team over the hump, and by hump I mean over .500. There will be a lot of trade rumors surrounding him when he returns, but I just can’t see Danny Ainge blowing up the team when they are playing this well. I for one cannot wait to see Rondo back on the court and making plays, and he has really grown up in the absence of Pierce and Garnett. The chemistry that he and Stevens have will make him a better player on the court.
