With Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant out, it is hard to like the Los Angeles Lakers chances in this one. They go on the road against the Utah Jazz, and Gordon Hayward’s crew is favored in this one (-3), but not by that much. This one tips at 9:05 PM EST, and here is the TV info on that one just in case you were looking for it.
TV: Time Warner, ROOT-Rocky Mountain, DTV: 684, 691, 760, 761
Would go with the Jazz here to go over the spread. Can we be finished with this one please?
Okay quick soap-box basketball comment that is unrelated to these teams, but still crucially important and may write a followup piece later. Just want to get something off my chest. Saw over Christmas that Jeremy Lin (WHAT!) has more fan votes for the All Star game right now than James Harden.
Come on people.
I love Lin as much (if not more) than the next guy; my old roommate actually went to high school with Lin and have been a big fan of the point guard myself even going back to that Harvard game where he went toe-to-toe against the Connecticut Huskies basically by himself. He is an entertaining player to watch, and also realize that he has an international following and that basketball is now an international sport. Having said all that…. it still makes no sense, because super-fans of Lin probably watch a lot of Houston games and so they definitely see a lot of the Bearded One’s greatness. Which needles to say far exceeds that of Lin at this point, and there is just no real question about it, so let’s try to fix this by February y’all, because this will not stand!
Thanks so much for reading, and got a couple more pieces coming your way.
