After the suspension handed to backup point guard Andre Miller, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether he will remain with the Denver Nuggets much longer.
The 15-year veteran has seen his minutes decrease throughout the year, and he’s also putting up career-lows in both points and assists per game. After his latest antic, he doesn’t seem to have much of a future with the Denver organization, and the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors have already expressed their interest in him.
While it’s unlikely that Miller could end up being a good fit with the Kings, things are quite different for the Warriors. Miller would be a great addition to the Golden State roster, and the team’s management needs to pull off a trade for him as soon as possible.
Golden State has been in the market for a backup floor general for a while now and while they held talks with the Toronto Raptors to land Kyle Lowry, Miller seems to be a better option overall. He has experience playing for winning teams, and his desire to win a ring could be a huge motivator for him to accept the move.
Miller also doesn’t have a problem coming off the bench, and he could end up being a valuable piece of the team down the stretch, much like Jarrett Jack was last season. The Warriors would make a solid statement in the Western Conference if they are able to land Miller, so they should entertain the thought of making the trade sooner rather than later.
