Andre Miller is reportedly on the market as the Denver Nuggets are looking to trade him, and it appears that the Sacramento Kings are definitely interested in the playmaker. Per reports, the Kings have three trade packages prepared to land the 15-year veteran and while they all would add a second-round pick into the mix, the players that could be involved are interesting to say the least.
Sacramento could part ways with any of Jason Thompson, Marcus Thornton or Jimmer Fredette in order to land the point guard and if the Nuggets had to choose any, they would be wise to pick Fredette as the headliner in the trade.
Thornton doesn’t figure to be a fit in Brian Shaw’s plans, and Thompson would be easily blocked by the likes of Kenneth Faried and JaVale McGee in the frontcourt. Fredette, on the other hand, could be an excellent complement to PG Ty Lawson, and his excellent shooting skills could make him a threat in the Nuggets’ offense.
Fredette was heralded as one of the deadliest shooters at the college level and even though he hasn’t been able to replicate that kind of success at the NBA, he still possesses a smooth, clean shooting stroke that could pay dividends sooner rather than later. He can create his own shot, and it appears that all that he needs is a fresh start, something the Nuggets would be willing to give him.
The Nuggets would be wise to part ways with Miller as soon as possible and if they can get Fredette in return, this trade could end up being a huge win for Denver.
