Apparently, the Sacramento Kings are really trying to land veteran point guard Andre Miller. Per reports, the Kings are putting together three different offers to present to the Denver Nuggets in hopes of landing the floor general. Miller quickly fell out of favor with Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw after criticizing him publicly and with the veteran on his way out of the rotation, the Kings are looking to acquire him while he is made available.
The offers all include a future second-round pick and they are headlined by a different player: one is highlighted by Jimmer Fredette, the other has Marcus Thornton as the main player and there’s even a third that would include Jason Thompson.
If the Nuggets receive any of these offers, they should accept it as all these options would be a better fit than Miller, who clearly wants to leave. For the Kings, it’s also a win-win situation. Neither of the three mentioned players has been able to live up to the hype, and the presence of the veteran floor general could help Isaiah Thomas become a better passer and a better point guard overall.
In addition to the mentoring, Miller would be a steady option to backup Thomas in the second unit and would bring some much-needed veteran presence to the locker room. It’s clearly a good option for Sacramento, and they should try to make this deal happen as soon as possible.
