It would be an understatement to say that the Boston Celtics had a rough road trip last week. The Celtics were obliterated and could not come up with a win, and they have now lost eight straight games. With a 13-25 record, they are hanging out in the basement of the Eastern Conference. This week looks a lot better. Three out of the four games are at home and against weaker teams. The Celtics may have a chance to get back on track.

January 13 vs. Houston Rockets

After a terrible week, the Rockets will come Boston to give the Celtics a nice, warm welcome. I bet the Cs are really sick of playing these highly-competitive Western teams. The Celtics have to grind through another game against another premier team. In their last meeting, the Rockets demolished Boston 109-85. The Cs couldn’t get much offense going and were totally overpowered. I don’t see this time around playing out any differently.

Prediction: BOS 92 — HOU 103

January 15 vs. Toronto Raptors

The Raptors have done surprisingly well this season despite efforts by the general manager to tank for a lottery selection. These teams haven’t played each other since the very first game of the season. The Raptors won that game 93-87. I think the Rapors will hand the Celtics their 10th-straight loss.

Prediction: BOS 95 — TOR 97

January 17 vs. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been atrocious this season and are without Kobe Bryant. I see the Celtics snapping their long losing streak to this team and finally getting that much-needed win. The Lakers are a very similar to the Celtics. Their leader and best player is out while a bunch of scrappy players are trying to figure it out on the court.

Prediction: BOS 96 — LAL 87

January 19 at Orlando Magic

These two teams played each other once earlier this season. It was the game after Jeff Green hit the buzzer-beater to beat the Miami Heat. The Celtics had a ton of momentum and put up 120 points against Orlando. It was a well-balanced attack, and seven players scored in double-digits. The Magic are slightly worse than the Celtics this season, and Boston will edge this one out.

Prediction: BOS 108 — ORL 96
