The crazy roller coaster season continues for the Dallas Mavericks. After the Mavs swept a three-game road trip two weeks ago, they proceeded to return home and lose three of their next four games. They lost to the LA Clippers, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. Their only win during that stretch was a game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dallas has once again turned it around a little bit, as they have won three games in a row. The Mavs defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, and then took care of the Orlando Magic on Monday night 107-88. The winning streak is a good sign for Dallas and their fans.

Dallas is hoping to get back into the playoffs this year, and in order for that to happen, they need to defeat teams like the Pelicans and the Magic. There was some concern during the losing streak, as they did lose to the Knicks and their 10-22 record. Those are the games that are frustrating as a fan of the Mavs.

Another good sign during the winning streak is the Mavs’ shooting percentage from the field. In two of the games, the Mavs have shot over 50 percent from the field and in both of those games, Dallas made more than 10 three pointers. In both of those games, the Mavs’ defense allowed 90 or fewer points as well. Saturday against the Pelicans is the only game in which they didn’t shoot 50 percent and they gave up 107 points. This is a good sign, as they are about to enter a tough stretch of games against the Phoenix Suns, Clippers and Portland Trailblazers.
