Miami Heat Rumors: Does LeBron James’ B-Day Message to Dwyane Wade Signify Uncertain Future?

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

For the Miami Heat and the team’s collection of true, diehard fans and band-wagoners, they may have been given the biggest hint to LeBron James‘ 2014 summer plans. The hint, however, doesn’t seem to be leaning in favor of South Beach. Maybe I am over-thinking this completely or maybe I’m right. Anyway, you decide for yourself. Here is James’ birthday Instagram message to Dwyane Wade, enjoy:

“Happy Bday to my running mate, homie, brother, and most of all straight up friend. The friendship we’ve created our rookie year at pre draft camp was pure and that’s why we stuck together from that point on! Obviously didn’t know we would become teammates and do the things we’ve done so far. I came to Miami for 2 reasons, to play with U and to win championships and I can’t thank u enough for the sacrifice you’ve made since I arrived homie. No matter what happens in the future we stuck together like brothers for life.”

James goes on to talk some slang and joke with Wade, but wasn’t that cute!? All kidding aside, what can we learn, if anything, from this? Basically James is acknowledging the fact that he has no idea where the future will take either player. He made no hint of remaining with the Heat after this season, so it is possible he will opt-out of his contract.

I will admit, I over-exaggerated in the introduction about this being a big hint about the NBA MVP’s future, but we can still learn from this. We can learn that James is not making any long-term plans yet. Or we can learn that maybe James is insisting that Wade will no longer be with Miami after this season. I’m probably trying to make something out of nothing with this, but the summer will be here before you know it and the Heat will have a long to-do list. As far as this social media post is concerned, we have to try to read between the lines because James hasn’t given us much to work with.
