Tonight the Atlanta Hawks will try their mettle against the Western Conference leading Oklahoma City Thunder and the league’s leading scorer and MVP pole position occupier Kevin Durant. Point guard Russell Westbrook has been out, which is partly what has led to Durant taking over the scoring load for the Thunder so completely.

Here is the TV info for this one which tips off at 8 PM EST.

TV: SportSouth, FS-Oklahoma, DTV: 649, 679, 756, 757

Durant sat out the game before, and it clearly bothered him psychologically although it was better for him physically. This was definitely better for Durant to not aggravate the injury further, and this should make all the difference when the playoffs roll around. It is a lot closer than people think, and when we get onto the other side of the All Star break then the calendar will begin to shrink for a lot more players.

“I hate sitting out,” Durant said, “but it was best for me and my shoulder. I guess that day off was needed.”

Power forward Al Horford is out for the Hawks so would go with the Thunder to cover the spread (-10), and for the Slim Reaper to score over 30 points maybe without even breaking a sweat. Got a couple more previews coming at you today, and for any DMVer like Durant out there you should be sure to check out the list put together over the weekend of the top 20 reasons you know you are a sports fan from Washington D.C.
