15 Bold Predictions for the 2014 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
15 Bold Predictions for the 2014 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game
NBA All-Star weekend always kicks off on a light-hearted note these days with the Celebrity Game. It's officially dubbed as the Celebrity All-Star Game, but it's hard to believe these are the best ballers that Hollywood has to offer. It's more of a game filled with celebrities that are 'willing to participate' in such a contest. But regardless, fans get entertained and that's really all that matters.
If you haven't checked it out yet, here's a look at this year's roster:
Kevin Hart, Erin Heatherton, Mike Greenberg, Mike Golic, Kristen Ledlow, Nick Cannon, Bruce Bowen, Elena Dell, Skylar Diggins, Stan Verrett, Jesse Williams, Columbus Short, Terrence Jenkins and Michael B. Jordan. The teams will be coached by former NBA and college star Jalen Rose and by ESPN basketball personality Bill Simmons.
As you can see, there's a good balance of participants this year. There are some return celebrities from last year's game and some new faces as well.
It should be noted that Kevin Hart will be going for his third straight MVP award, which would set a new record. Currently Hart is tied with Terrell Owens who won back-to-back MVPs in 2008 and 2009.
So what should fans expect from this year's game? The simple answer is just more of the same. There's not a lot of fluctuation when it comes to celebrity games. The action ranges from bad to not that bad. There's really no reason to believe you'll see a decent basketball game. It's a contest all about entertaining spots. With that in mind, here are 15 predictions for this year's NBA Celebrity All-Star game:
Kevin Hart Will Get Clowned
There's no way Hart doesn't get some kind of prank pulled on him.
Erin Heatherton Will Still Be Beautiful
Heatherton will take time off from her busy life as a Victoria Secret model to join the celebrity game. We should all be grateful.
Arne Duncan Will Show Again That Politicians Can Ball
The U.S. Secretary of Education has shown off his skills in this game since 2011. There's a reason he keeps getting invited back.
Mike Golic Will Show He's In Better Shape Than You Think
I don't think Golic would agree to playing in this game if he wasn't in decent shape.
Mike Greenberg Will Do Something Very Non-Athletic
Greeny doesn't seem like the most athletic of guys. I'm guessing he'll do something to get made fun of on future episodes of Mike and Mike.
Kristen Ledlow Will Show Off Her Shooting Skills
Ledlow recently lost a free throw contest to Shaq on TNT. I think she'll rebound with a solid outing in the Celebrity game.
Nick Cannon Will Try to Steal the Show
Cannon has played in the celebrity game numerous times, but he's never won MVP. This could be his year.
Bruce Bowen Will Play His Trademark Tough Defense
Bowen will definitely make a celebrity look silly with some of his solid defense.
There Will Be Way Too Many Michael "B" Jordan Jokes
We get it, he has the same name as the GOAT.
Bill Simmons Will Be Serious About Winning
You know that Simmons will want to hold a coaching victory over Rose's head.
Jalen Rose Will Out-Coach Bill Simmons
Unfortunately for BS, Jalen Rose's basketball knowledge will prove to be too much.
Kevin Hart Will Be His Outlandish Self
There will certainly be no shortage of Kevin Hart being Kevin Hart moments.
Elena Delle and Skylar Diggins Will Represent the WNBA Well
These girls will probably be the only ones on point throughout the contest.
Stan Verrett Will End Up Making Fun of Himself on a Future Episode of SC
I didn't know Stan could ball. Maybe he can't?
Kevin Hart Will Win His Third MVP Award
Hart is the star in this game and therefore he'll be favorite to win MVP. Im predicting he'll set the record by earning the honor for the third time.
