Jason Kidd Compares Kevin Durant to “George Gervin and Dirk All Mixed Into One”
Head coach Jason Kidd had some kind words about forward Kevin Durant recently, and the former point guard even pulled out an Iceman reference for any basketball historians out there.
“He’s George Gervin and Dirk (Nowitzki) all mixed into one,” Kidd said to the New York Daily News. “He’s seven feet, he can put the ball on the floor. He’s shown that he can rebound and pass, so he’s the total package.”
The Brooklyn Nets are apparently gearing up to go after Durant in 2017, and that will likely produce disastrous results.
Durant has looked like the bar-none MVP of the league so far this year, and it is obvious that his game has reached another level. We all knew this was possible, but for it to have happened so quickly is remarkable; his comfort level and joy on the court is quite evident, and in his latest game in South Beach he honestly looked like a kid on a playground. He may not have the most talent around him, but at the current moment he is the superstar I would bet on in a game 7.
Two time champion LeBron James deserves respect, and he is the best until someoe dethrones him… but this might be the year that “The Chosen One” has to watch the throne.
