Dwyane Wade and the 15 NBA Players With the Most Swag
Dwyane Wade Rounds Out List of NBA Players With Most Swag
If you’re like me, sometimes it’s tough to care what people think about you. There are some days where you will wake up, not care much at all about what clothes you put on and don’t do a thing with your hair – and that’s perfectly fine. We all know those days. Whether it’s the desire to be comfortable or pure laziness, we can relate one in the same.
In the NBA, there’s typically no time for slacking in that department. It’s more than a game. It’s a business. It’s about presenting an image. Times have changed over the years, but with those changing times comes adaptation and innovation in the fashion industry. For some players, they completely ignore these changes and go their own way. Others, meanwhile, will go with the flow and ensure they show up looking like everyone else.
Well, there are a certain few guys that have taken style to a whole different level; and not just style – the entire presentation of one’s self and the confidence to be able to pull it all off. You may know this to be one definition of the very, very vague term – “swag.”
Whether it is date night with the lady and they are worried about potential fans and paparazzi or they are in a post-game press conference, there are some of these players who care much more than others when it comes to how they present themselves. I think we all know a few of them that may come to mind instantly.
3-time champion Dwyane Wade has been known as one of those guys for a while now, and he isn’t alone. There are plenty of others out there who take their style and overall presentation to a new level. Here is a complete list of Wade along with the top 15 NBA players with the most swag.
15. Chris Bosh
Let’s all be real honest here. The guy is made fun of more than any other player in the game, yet he still looks classy all the time and shows up to do his job. Chris Bosh is a professional and handles his business. Leave ‘em alone!
14. Steve Nash
Back when Steve Nash rocked the long hair, not many folks liked that look. But, he made it look good. He carried himself like he was the man. Beyond basketball, the guy is heavily involved in film – he really is the man. He’s got a lot going for him, and if he so chose to bring back that hair, by golly he could still pull it off.
You wish you looked that good with long hair, gentlemen.
13. LeBron James
MVP’s need to have style too, and this guy has plenty of it. Not only does LeBron James always show up looking real fresh to any public event, but he’s also got a couple of those big shiny rings – no further discussion needed.
12. Amare Stoudemire
His NBA career may be laughable at this point, but Amare Stoudemire has always gone hard with his attire. He depends on his stylists more than Khloe Kardashian depended on that prenup. Sorry, Lamar.
11. Kevin Durant
It’s tough not to have a little swag when you play on the same team as arguably the most fashionable guy in the league. Kevin Durant has some of his own, though, and is always bringing out new outfits to go with his always-fresh kicks.
10. James Harden
9. Ray Allen
How are you not on a list like this when folks call you “Jesus Shuttlesworth?” Oh, and Ray Allen also has quite the collection of rare Jordan kicks. Known as one of the biggest “sneakerheads” in the game, Allen’s shoes are always looking real good.
8. John Wall
Who else do you know that can rock a white tux with a plaid blazer? Come on, now. John Wall has more swag than he knows what to do with.
7. Nate Robinson
Big swag comes in small packages – in this case, about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. Check out Nate Robinson on Instagram and you’ll know that this cat is all about how he carries himself.
6. Carmelo Anthony
I’m not sure if there is a player who pulls off a fedora better than Carmelo Anthony -- not pictured here, but believe me he makes it happen. It’s tough to do, if you’re not him.
5. Iman Shumpert
The high-top fade is no longer there, but it wasn’t too long ago Iman Shumpert was stacking it up. Still, Shumpert’s style and how he shows himself in post-game attire makes him a top pick for the guys with the most swag.
4. Richard Hamilton
Speaking of “sneakerheads,” Richard Hamilton has got to be atop the list. He has an entire room – who knows how big – full of stacked boxes of Jordans. In fact, he has so many, that he has given plenty away to fans just for the heck of it. Let’s not also forget that the guy chose to play with that mask for the rest of his career – swag.
3. Nick Young
When your nickname is “Swaggy P,” there’s not much else to talk about here.
2. Russell Westbrook
Who knew that Russell Westbrook would bring back those Steve Urkel-looking glasses (and sunglasses) and make them look good? The guy is known for his press conference clothing, but over the last couple of years he has made those crazy-colored spectacles popular.
1. Dwyane Wade
It’s not every day that you see someone show off a flowery suit. In fact, I can’t remember anybody else ever doing that. But that is exactly what he did during last year's playoffs, and played it as cool as ever. Wade can literally wear whatever he wants and make it look good. It’s all about the swag – all how he presents himself. Don’t we all wish we had that ability? Kudos, Mr. Wade.
That’s a nice little throwback to 2004, isn’t it?
