Even if you hate Dwyane Wade the player, you have to respect the work that he has done to benefit the community. NBA players are fortunate enough to have so much attention surrounding them, such enormous salaries and to play on national television. I am not suggesting that all of the above are not well deserved because they most certainly are. However, I am suggesting that a person in such a position of admiration should take the time to give back to the community that has supported them year after year. Many of them would not be in the position they are today if it weren't for the support that they have received through their years of playing the game.

Furthermore, Wade is a perfect example of one of those athletes that constantly gives back to the community not only out of his pocket, but he is very involved personally as well. It is one thing to simply flood a foundation with money and it is another thing to actually go to the events yourself to interact with the kids, fans, etc. To go above and beyond, Wade created his own foundation called Wade's World. The foundation has been up and running for over ten years now as it has reached out to thousands of children over that span. Although the foundation accepts donations from the average person every day, Wade himself puts countless hours of his own time as well as large sums of his own money into it. It is players like Wade that assist the NBA in maintaining such a positive reputation. The league needs more players like him.

Education is the single most important thing a child should focus on. Sadly a great deal of kids across the nation are not as fortunate as others to pursue a quality education. Whether it be lack of emphasis on education or just a poor school system, there isn't much that many of them can do about it. Donating to the Wade's World Foundation helps in providing a valuable education to more and more kids.

In addition to education, the Wade's World Foundation keeps kids out of trouble. If not Wade himself, other people within the foundation provide direction to troubled kids. Tons of children are exposed to all types of crime when they are very young so they sort of grow accustomed to it. It has to be difficult to not succumb to the pressure especially without an adult figure to tell them what's right from wrong.

The Wade's World Foundation maximizes its efforts to aid children by reaching out to communities in Chicago, Milwaukee and South Florida. Wade grew up in the high crime area of Chicago and attended college at Marquette University in Milwaukee. He has played his entire NBA career in Miami, Florida so he has reason to reach out to all of the latter areas.

A substantial amount of kids in our country are shockingly not provided with the proper healthcare. Wade's foundation not only supplies the kids with healthcare, but it also informs them of proper habits to help them stay healthy. They learn how vital exercise and nutrition are if they want to live a long and healthy life.
