Houston Rockets PF Jeremy Lin Is “Just Thankful” For Recent Triple-Double

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Point guard Jeremy Lin recored a triple-double recently, which was probably a welcome relief after all of his early season troubles.

“I’m just thankful” Lin said to NBA.com. “I never really thought about [the triple-double] until everyone was telling me it was about to happen. Three games ago, I was in a pretty bad slump, so right now I’m just trying to stay aggressive, stay confident, and try to make the right basketball play.”

It has not quite been Linsanity lately, but hopefully the point guard out of Palo Alto can keep the hot streak going into the playoffs. His production against the other elite teams of the West will be critical for Dwight Howard to finally have playoff success, and honestly just do not see it happening this season. I love James Harden, and he is my favorite shooting guard in the league but they seem like they are still a year or two away from getting it done when it comes to June basketball.

Thanks for coming by on Super Bowl Sunday, and here is some fortune cookie wisdom to light you on your path in the coming week. Let’s make February the best month yet folks and chase something elusive.

Jeremy lin is the best , glad mchale never bench him that last 2mins knowing lin could have his first triple double..

Lin didn’t actually have early season troubles, he was in a slump in late Dec through mid Jan, about 3 weeks. The first 6 weeks and the last 10 days he’s been stellar. Harden and Beverly have had gawd awful shooting %s most of the season with Parsons and Howard streaky (Howard streaky in owning boards, parsons in shooting). The only person who has been consistent more than Lin this season is Jones.

The problem with Houston is Harden has many awful nights where he throws up 22+ and hits 5. If he doesn’t get to the line in half of those, the rockets are dead in the water.

The headline says “The Houston Rockets PF Jeremy Lin.” Lin would be a PF on a high school team…he’s a PG who can play as a substitute SG. As for his feat, he was amazing to come off the bench with that kind of energy and vision. Hopefully he has more games like this because without his contributions, the Rox would have lost, and there are lot better teams than the Cavs. It’ll be interesting to see how they match up with the Suns in a few days; I predict it’ll be the battle of small ball. Expect a lot of play out of Dragic, Beverly, Brooks, Lin, Harden,
