Phoenix Suns Goran Dragic Named Western Conference POW After All Star Snub
When asked whether the Phoenix Suns deserved an All Star, point guard Goran Dragic did not hesitate at all.
“I think so, yes, especially with this record,” Dragic responded. “I was sad, full of emotion, when I found out We still have a small chance, but the playoffs are more important.”
His performance earned him the honor of being named the Western Conference player of the week, and if the point guard continues to perform like this then the Suns are going to make the playoffs. He is quite right that the playoffs are more important, by the way; they were 4-0 this week and Dragic scored 20 or more points in every single contest to help to pace the squad.
Kyle Lowry was given the honor in the East, and he is a player who has surprised in the early season as well. Got one more Prep piece coming today, and it has to do with another point guard, Rajon Rondo, and how the mercurial floor general is rounding his way back into All Star form after coming back from injury. If Rondo can do that then Brad Stevens squad is not going to be fun to play in the tournament, because the head coach is used to brackets where you are only allowed to lose once and you are out. Would imagine four losses does not sound too bad after that.
