These 5 Chicago Bulls May Be Gone in Two Weeks

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Like many of you may have already known, the Chicago Bulls are far from done making moves. After trading Luol Deng, a lot of fans had a hard time coming to grips with the fact that the organization would trade such a beloved part of the franchise for so many years. Well, fans, get ready to be sorely disappointed even more in the near future.

Chicago is in the midst of a period where they are getting ready to go after a big name this summer in order to take pressure off of Derrick Rose when he finally returns, as well as be able to compete for a championship. One of the names that has been related to the Bulls now for a few weeks has been none other than Carmelo Anthony.

But, in order to bring a guy like Anthony to Chicago, the team will need to continue to clear cap space so that they can offer a max deal. Yes, that means that even more of Chicago’s favorite players will be on the move.

With the NBA trade deadline approaching quickly, there have been countless reports and rumors regarding the Bulls’ plans over the next two weeks. Almost every player on the roster has been mentioned in whispers about a potential trade, and believe me, they should not be taken lightly.

The Bulls’ organization is serious about bringing another championship to Chicago – so serious, that they will be looking to make a deal or two happen by February 20th to put themselves in better position financially going into the summer. With that said, here are five Bulls players on the trade block and even a few sources’ takes on where they might end up.

5. Carlos Boozer

The name of Carlos Boozer always comes up when talking about moves the Bulls should or could make. His enormous contract isn’t exactly going to do the team well this summer when they look to add another premier name. If they can unload him, believe me, they will.

4. Joakim Noah

There have been multiple teams interested in Joakim Noah, according to rumors around the league. The International Business Times reported that the Bulls may wind up trading him to the Phoenix Suns prior to the deadline.

3. Taj Gibson

There are currently three teams interested in Taj Gibson, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers, according to NBC Sports’ Pro Basketball Talk. Gibson is a fan favorite, but in order to clear up space and have the best possibility of landing a guy like Carmelo Anthony, Chicago may waive goodbye.

2. Mike Dunleavy Jr.

According to a report by Sam Amick, the Houston Rockets have been coveting Mike Dunleavy Jr. The Rockets are always a team amidst trade whispers, so don’t be surprised if they make something happen with a guy that is obviously not a part of Chicago’s future plans.

1. Kirk Hinrich

The most likely to get traded is point guard Kirk Hinrich, who many sources are now saying is being looked at heavily by the Golden State Warriors. Chicago has found new life at the position behind D.J. Augustin, and Hinrich’s numbers have dipped quite a bit. Golden State may end up getting their man before the deadline has passed.

This is nuts! The Bulls aren’t going to trade Noah or Taj. Everyone knows the others are bound for out of town.

The bulls would be crazy to not trade Taj if they can get Carmelo. No way he’s untouchable. Last I checked, the Bulls haven’t won with either player.
