The Washington Wizards will be facing off against the Sacramento Kings today as the Wizards attempt to climb back to .500 once again this season.

It has been a struggle all season for the Wizards to consistently win. Just when the team begins to play like the third best team in the Eastern Conference, they go and drop a game, which would seem like an easy win, to the bottom feeders of the NBA. Washington needs to become more consistent in order to finally stay over .500 for the remainder of the season. This afternoon is a great opportunity against the Kings, especially if both Rudy Gay and Marcus Thornton are out again due to illness. As long as Marcin Gortat can somewhat slow down DeMarcus Cousins, the Wizards will surely have a shot at taking this game on their home court.

As for the Kings, who are coming off a disappointing loss to the Boston Celtics, it is going to be another fight if the team plans on stealing this one from Washington. Sacramento has looked like a potentially dangerous team when 100 percent healthy, but that has been an issue all season. Cousins sprained his ankle about two weeks ago when facing off against the Houston Rockets and after that injury, the team went on to drop seven straight games in his absence. Then just a couple games after Cousins returned, Gay and Thornton both sat out last game due to illness. They will most likely sit out tonight’s game as well, so the constant injuries have really hindered the Kings’ chances of developing a rhythm this season.

We will have to see what happens this afternoon at 6 ET, but it should be an exciting game to watch.
