Damian Lillard is making history this weekend by becoming the first player to ever participate in all five All Star weekend events, but the point guard does not seem to be really worried about fatigue.
“If I didn’t think I had a chance to win all of them, I wouldn’t put my name in them,” Lillard said to NBA.com. “But I really feel strong about the 3-point shootout. I’ll be fine. I’m not concerned with it. I’m not going to spend a lot of time on the court, to be honest with you. I’ll shoot for two minutes (in the 3-point contest), skills for two minutes and we’ll dunk for maybe five minutes.”
We sometimes forget how young these players are, and also how well conditioned. If Lillard thinks he can handle the load, then would trust his opinion in that. He was my pick to win the three point shooting competition, but he is a pretty big long shot for the dunk contest. Sitting down to watch him now, so will fill you all in tomorrow about my thoughts on the weekend.
“Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly copy it. Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something else” -Leonardo da Vinci
