Jarrett Jack Nets Trade

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to make another push after the NBA All-Star break and are looking to use the Feb. 20 NBA Trade Deadline to try and make that happen. According to a report from Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York, the Nets are interested in a deal that would land them current Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack.

Jack hasn’t exactly been the infusion of life for the bench that the Cavs were hoping he would be when they signed him to a four-year, $24 million contract this summer. In 51 games, the veteran guard has averaged only 8.5 points, 3.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game, all the while shooting a mere 39.7 percent from the floor and 37.3 percent from three-point range.

Youngmisuk also reported that the Nets could be interested in a straight-up swap for Jack that would send veteran Jason Terry—who the Nets acquired via trade this summer—to Cleveland. The money works on the deal and Brooklyn hasn’t seen a great deal of production from Terry this season that would give them a strong desire to keep him around.

It’s pretty clear that the Nets’ interest in Jack is based more on his past performance more than on this season, assumedly hoping that he could return to form with a change of scenery. Shaun Livingston has been a solid backup for Brooklyn behind the oft-injured Deron Williams, but Jack is a combo-guard that could inject a bit more dynamic playmaking into the Nets’ roster and Jack could be a player that could help put the Nets further over the hump and further into playoff-contention.

Tis the season for rumors to start flying, some having legs and others being nothing more than a passing conversation. Given that, we’ll see if things heat up between the Nets and Cavs in regards to trade talks as we move closer to the deadline.

Dwyane Wade Makes Brooklyn Nets Look Foolish

You gotta give the Brooklyn Nets credit: Despite looking incredibly foolish at times in front of their home crowd, they competed against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night and only lost by four points. That said, you wouldn't know it from this epic clip of Dwyane Wade dribbling circles around multiple Nets and ultimately hitting a stellar fadeaway jumper.

Gerald Green Throws Down Monstrous Slam On Nets

Gerald Green hasn't been the most consistent player throughout the early stages of his young career, but there's no denying his overwhelming athleticism. Against the floundering Brooklyn Nets this evening, Green showcased some of those said abilities by emphatically throwing down a monstrous dunk, and he caught some major air in the process. If he's ever able to learn how to do it night-in and night out, Green is going to be an All-Star one day.
