Even though there was one move for the Atlanta Hawks at the deadline, they did the right thing in staying put and not moving any key pieces around. The one move that was made was for a veteran Antawn Jamison. Jamison, who was recently with the Los Angeles Clippers, has played now for 15 long years.

Drafted No. 4 overall in the 1998 NBA Draft, Jamison has played for a total of eight teams. He’s like the basketball version of Octavio Dotel.

The thing is there are now rumors that Jamison will be cut by the Hawks. But there are more rumors saying that the addition of Jamison means that either Jared Cunningham or Cartier Martin will now be cut by the Hawks.

There’s so much confusion around the trade, but I like it. If the Hawks decided to keep Jamison, that would be great. The more bodies, the better, and lately the Hawks need all the help they can get.

The Hawks were rumored to be after Iman Shumpert, Jordan Hill and Chris Kaman among others. A trade between the Hawks and the New York Knicks was rumored to be happening for an exchange of Jeff Teauge for Shumpert. After both players were injured those talks sort of died off .

I like what the Hawks did. The team did not take a huge chance on any player. They stayed put with all the key guys they need to contend in the East and take down the contenders.
