NBA Preview: Will Marcus Thornton Be A Difference-Maker Against Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors?
The Nets should be well rested, having not played a game since Wednesday, while the Warriors are fresh off a stunning win against the Houston Rockets Thursday night. The Warriors have a new addition of their own in the backcourt in former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Blake. The Warriors are hoping he can provide solid play and leadership to the second unit as the Warriors try to fight and claw their way back to the playoffs.
The Nets have been fighting chemistry issues all season long and the addition of Thornton will take some getting use to. The fans just hope that it will be a quick learning curve and he can provide solid numbers for a team that is still fighting for their playoff lives. Jason Kidd once again has to tweak his rotation to provide valuable minutes for his new player, while still keeping his currents players happy.
There are talks that the Nets are looking into bringing a big body to the team with either Jason Collins or Glen Davis. The Nets have been wining since switching to a smaller lineup, but adding some height and weight certainly won’t hurt their chances.
If the Nets want to have any chance of beating the Warriors, they will have to be quick with the defensive rotations on the perimeter in order to keep a hand in the face of Curry and Klay Thompson. If they get hot, then the Nets are in for a long night.
I still see the Nets pulling this out as they welcome their new shooter to the squad.
