Dallas Mavericks Cannot Afford to Overlook Chicago Bulls

Tonight in downtown Dallas at the American Airlines Center, two of the hottest teams in the NBA will collide. The Chicago Bulls are in town to face the Dallas Mavericks. In their last 10 games, both teams are 8-2. Only the Miami Heat have a better record in their last 10 games at 9-1.

The Bulls are currently No. 4 in the Eastern Conference while Dallas sits in the No. 6 spot. This is a game in which Dallas really needs to win. After tonight, three of the next four games are against upper echelon teams in the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers and Indiana Pacers.

It would be easy for the Mavs to overlook the Bulls, a team that is only five games over .500 and a team they’ve already defeated once this year. However, that’s been the problem with the Mavericks this year. They tend to overlook teams they shouldn’t and allow it to affect their play on the court.

The Bulls are coming off a very impressive game Wednesday night in which they defeated the Golden State Warriors by 20 points. This is a game in which Dallas needs to jump out to an early lead and keep the foot on the gas. If they don’t, they could be asking themselves how they let another one slip away from them. Once again the Mavericks need to show the rest of the NBA they are legit when it comes to playoff talks. A win against the Bulls at home could help with that argument.
