Time For LeBron James to Stop Whining and Man Up

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Not only is LeBron James known for his fantastic play on the court, but he is also known to voice his opinion from time to time off the court where sometimes it comes off as the King whining or complaining. James, like many players, lets a referee know when he is upset. Yes, sometimes it seems like he is being a big cry baby, but other times he has a point.

Then there are the times that James takes to the media to express his opinion or concern. He has expressed his concern and displeasure with opponents’ hard fouls and everyone was split. Some agreed with James that the hard fouls were unnecessary, while others attacked James as a whiner. I remained neutral in that argument as both sides made strong arguments, but James’ latest complaint has me wanting to tell him to “suck it up, cupcake.”

The Miami Heat wore the new NBA sleeved jerseys Thursday night as they took on the San Antonio Spurs. James had one of his worst shooting nights of the season as he went 6-of-18 from the field as San Antonio walked away victorious, 111-87. After the game, James said that “I’m not making excuses, but I’m not a big fan of the jerseys.” From a fashion standpoint, he is right, but that wasn’t the point he was trying to make. “Every time I shoot it feels like it’s pulling right up underneath my arm,” James said.

There have been some other minor complaints, but league commissioner Adam Silver says that the new jerseys have not caused any major differences in scoring or shooting percentage across the league. Basically, I am going to tell James to shut up. Just about everyone has had enough of you whining, and if you haven’t already noticed, a lot of people dislike you already. Do you really want to keep giving more people more reasons not to like you?

Between the complaining to refs, whining about hard fouls and blaming an off-night on sleeved jerseys, James would win the award for biggest baby. You are the face of the league and basketball; you have several rings, MVPs and other accolades, but that doesn’t give you the right to cry about everything. Speaking of MVP, blaming your poor play on a jersey or protective mask won’t exactly bode well in the race. It is time for James to shut up, man up and be the tough guy he acts like he is.

Dwyane Wade Makes Brooklyn Nets Look Foolish

You gotta give the Brooklyn Nets credit: Despite looking incredibly foolish at times in front of their home crowd, they competed against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night and only lost by four points. That said, you wouldn't know it from this epic clip of Dwyane Wade dribbling circles around multiple Nets and ultimately hitting a stellar fadeaway jumper.

Gerald Green Throws Down Monstrous Slam On Nets

Gerald Green hasn't been the most consistent player throughout the early stages of his young career, but there's no denying his overwhelming athleticism. Against the floundering Brooklyn Nets this evening, Green showcased some of those said abilities by emphatically throwing down a monstrous dunk, and he caught some major air in the process. If he's ever able to learn how to do it night-in and night out, Green is going to be an All-Star one day.

Harden, Wade Ice Game For Their Team in Final Min

Two of the best shooting (if not the two best) guards in the game both put their clutch gene on display last night. Within a few minutes of each other, Dwyane Wade and then James Harden both hit step-back jumpers in the final minute of the 4th quarter that iced the game for their team.
