The NBA postseason is a beast all its own, a place where true colors of pretending squads are exposed. Cheap fouls become a thing of the past, the eight-second half-court violation actually becomes eight seconds, while travelling and three in the key are brought back into the rulebook. Players sacrifice themselves by pushing the stat of charges drawn to the forefront. It's a beautiful thing.

With the playoffs right around the corner, this is the time the league and its fans witness late-season runs. Some teams fight for home-court advantage, a few battle it out to squeeze into the No. 8 seed, and a selection of teams punch in for work every night at the tank factory.

You will not find the likes of the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs on this list. Besides, I would expect a message on Twitter with the hashtag #CaptainObvious if they were here. The league is about to experience a March Madness of its very own.

Let's start the show.

The acronym MVP should really stand for Most Valuable PVR-Squad, and the Golden State Warriors have definitely been involved in a few "game of the year" nominees. With a record of 8-2 in their last 10 and 15 of their next 19 matchups coming against Western counterparts to climb the ladder, the Warriors are primed indeed.

After earning respect among its peers, advancing in the playoffs is the next step for the Raptors. A strong showing in the stretch run will continue to have the Eastern Conference game-planning on how to stop this well-oiled machine. Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozan drive this attack, but depth in the paint has also been a key to success. This franchise is playoff-ready and willing.

With a quality supporting cast in place to go along with emerging star Goran Dragic, the Suns are firing on all cylinders. Did I mention the imminent return of Eric Bledsoe? Be afraid, Western Conference.
