The Miami Heat have been to the NBA Finals the last three years, winning the past two championships with their current core. But the NBA is still a business with real life players and owners. Players get older and owners look for ways to decrease their payroll. If the Heat want to remain at the top of the league for years to come, then some changes will have to be made.
Here are five free agents Miami Heat should target.
He may be erratic at times, but Young can still put the ball in the basket when needed. With the injury history of Dwyane Wade, they need a backup who's not afraid of the limelight.
It doesn’t matter how much you score, you still have to defend. Okafor can still defend the rim. The Heat have been searching for years for a big man to protect the paint.
Monroe will give them them the inside scoring and rebounding that Chris Bosh never did.
Loyalty doesn’t matter in sports, but certain players should have the chance to retire with the team that drafted them. Wade and Miami are perfect for each other and if it wasn’t for Wade, there will be no LeBron James, Chris Bosh or talk of a three-peat. He is the reason they came to Miami.
He is the top free agent and the Heat will have to do whatever it takes to keep him in South Beach. If he leaves, then the Heat are back to being a mediocre team.
