New York Knicks Stay Hot, Need Help From Atlanta Hawks
The era of Phil Jackson continued its positive arrival Friday night as the New York Knicks won their eighth straight game, improving to 29-40 overall. Their red-hot streak came at the demise of the Philadelphia 76ers, who continued their record-setting decent to rock-bottom. The Knicks had no sympathy for the poor 76ers, handing them their 23rd loss in a row, 93-92.
For New York, it was another step in the right direction as the franchise begins to look to the future, but they aren’t quite ready to give up on this season yet. They are currently only a few games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the NBA East, but the Hawks themselves have been hot, winning their last five games. That isn’t exactly helping New York.
I truly believe that the Knicks will make the playoffs, however, it looks like they are going to need some help from either Atlanta or the Charlotte Bobcats. New York can win all the games they want from here on out, but if the other teams continue to win, there is no hope.
Knicks nation should be encouraged though by the recent play of their team. They are beginning to look like professionals, and now they have the legendary Zen Master to hopefully guide them to a championship. They are blowing out teams they are suppose to blow out and winning games that should be won. Whether or not New York makes the playoffs this season, the organization has the future to look forward to, and it should be promising.
